Overview

INE offers rack rentals that support all of our self-paced and instructor-led CCIE product lines, including Routing & Switching, Data Center, Collaboration, Security, and Service Provider. In addition to 24-hour hardware support, INE rack rentals come with simplified scheduling and advanced management control and utilize the same hardware and software used in the actual CCIE lab exams.

How many tokens do I need?

Each token purchased is good toward rack rental sessions. The exact number of tokens needed will vary depending on the product and the person. As an example, to complete the CCIE Routing & Switching v5 Workbook, you would need roughly 500 rack rental hours ≈ 2500 tokens.

Pricing

All CCIE rack rentals are scheduled in 30-minute sessions using our exclusive token system. This system is designed to give you the flexibility to schedule and reschedule your own sessions at your convenience. Each token purchased represents $1 USD. When consecutive sessions are scheduled on the same rack, you'll get uninterrupted access for the entire duration of the sessions for an even better value.

Simplified Scheduling

To schedule your CCIE rack rental sessions, log in to your Members account, click Rack Rentals, and select the track for which you want to book a session. Select all the sessions you want, and then click Schedule Labs. It’s that easy! Our advanced scheduling system will schedule all your consecutive sessions on the same rack if they are available. You are also provided with tools that let you cancel or reschedule your rack sessions without having to contact Customer Support.

of 1 hour and a maximum of 2 months. (Data Center rack rentals are limited to 85 hours per month.)

Immediately rent any currently available rack in 30-minute increments.

The enhanced Rack Control Panel helps you get the most out of your rack rental sessions—you won’t waste time reloading devices, saving configurations, loading configurations, or troubleshooting hardware problems. Our Rack Control Panel offers the following features:

  • Configuration capturing, archiving, and loading – Automatically save your configs and resume later.
  • Initial configuration loading – Automatically load initial configs for supported INE products.

Routing & Switching Rack Rentals

INE’s CCIE Routing & Switching rack rentals use the hardware specification publicly stated to be used in the actual CCIE Routing & Switching Lab Exam. The physical topology of the racks is cabled to meet the specifications of all of our instructor-led and self-paced product lines, including, but not limited to, INE’s CCIE Routing & Switching Lab Workbook Volume II.

Per the IEWB-RS-VOL2 Topology, all of our Routing & Switching racks include the following equipment:

  • Six routers running 12.4 or 12.4T Advanced Enterprise Services IOS
  • Two Catalyst 3560 series switches running 12.2 Advanced IP Services
  • Two Catalyst 3550 series switch running 12.2 IP Services
  • One preconfigured Access Server
  • One preconfigured Frame Relay switch
  • Three preconfigured backbone routers

Routing & Switching v5 Rack Rentals

INE’s CCIE Routing & Switching v5 rack rentals use the hardware specification publicly stated to be used in the actual CCIE Routing & Switching v5 Lab Exam. The topology can be built in a completely physical manner, a completely virtual manner, and a combination of both. Which option you choose depends on a number of factors, such as your budget, and space, power, & cooling limitations. A full build of this topology consists of the following:

  • 20 IOS Routers running version 15.4S or 15.3T (virtual or physical)
  • 4 Catalyst IOS Switches running version 15.0SE (virtual or physical)
  • Terminal Server / Access Server (optional)
  • Remote Power Controllers (optional)

Troubleshooting Rack Rentals

INE’s Troubleshooting rack rentals use a hardware specification intended to provide a throubleshooting experience that will test the following:

  • Use of IOS troubleshooting tools
  • Troubleshooting network equipment (within the scope of the v4 blueprint)
  • Understanding of methodologies
  • Verification of solutions

All of our Troubleshooting racks include the following equipment:

  • 28 1841 routers
  • 4  3560 switches

Troubleshooting Graded Labs

INE’s Graded Labs use the same topology as the Troubleshooting rack rentals but provide immediate feedback after your session is complete; they must be scheduled in three-hour blocks. You may choose from three available labs, each with the same level of difficulty.

Data Center Rack Rentals

INE’s Data Center rack rentals use the hardware platforms, software versions, and physical cabling of INE’s CCIE Data Center Technology Lab Workbook:

All of our Data Center racks include the following equipment:

  • Virtual Machines

Optional add-ons to the Data Center racks include:

Data Center rack rentals are currently in high demand, and are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. We recommend planning your rack time well in advance.

CCIE Data Center Rack Rentals are currently only available to customers who have purchased the CCIE Data Center Lab Workbook.

Collaboration Rack Rentals

INE’s CCIE Collaboration rack rentals use the hardware and software version specification publicly stated to be used in the actual CCIE Collaboration Lab Exam. The physical topology of the racks are cabled to meet the specification of all of our CCIE Collaboration instructor-led and self-paced product lines.

Our Collaboration hardware specification is built around Cisco’s published CCIE Collaboration hardware specification:

  • Cluster1:
    • VMs: 3x UCM, 1x IM&P, 1x CUC, 1x UCCX, 2x Jabber
    • Rack Phones: 3 direct attached 7961s (remotely controlled w/ variphy)
    • Remote Phones: 3 including 9971s at your physical study location via L2VPN
  • Cluster2:

    • Rack Phones: 1 direct attached 7961 (remotely controlled w/ variphy)

INE’s CCIE Security rack rentals use the hardware specification publicly stated to be used in the actual CCIE Security Lab Exam. Service Provider Rack Rentals

The physical topology for INE’s CCIE Service Provider Lab Workbook Version 3.0 uses 10 routers and 2 switches, which include a mix of 7200s, 2600s, XR 12000s, Catalyst ME3400s, and Catalyst 3550s. This topology has the flexibility to mimic the requirements of Cisco’s actual CCIE Service Provider Version 3.0 hardware blueprint, while still minimizing the cost for users building their own lab at home or work, and allowing for users to run the regular IOS portion of the topology in GNS3/Dynamips.
