CCIE Voice Mock Lab Exams

CCIE Voice Proctored Mock Labs: Test your knowledge and configuration skills with these challenging CCIE Voice mock labs. Designed to simulate the real lab experience, each lab will be proctored by a CCIE certified voice instructor who will grade your lab and personally review your score report in a live breakdown session the following day.

Each lab is designed to test your Core Knowledge, Configuration and Troubleshooting skills for the CCIE Voice 3.0 blueprint topics on a dedicated CCIE Voice Rack with the latest equipment to match the CCIE lab hardware specifications. The proctored mock lab is the perfect opportunity to test your knowledge before taking the real CCIE lab. Every lab will be evaluated by our CCIE voice instructors, and they will walk you through a detailed score report, highlighting both your strengths and weaknesses.

The Voice Mock lab will highlight both your strengths and weaknesses for the 3.0 blueprint, and allow you to refine your lab strategy, task interpretation, and time management techniques. With individualized, detailed feedback, you are guaranteed an accurate test of your knowledge, and a precise plan to cover any necessary technologies to ensure you are ready for your actual lab.

CCIE Voice Core Knowledge Simulation

Internetwork Expert's CCIE Voice Core Knowledge Simulation is designed to help prepare candidates for the newly added "open ended" section of the Voice CCIE Lab Exam. This new section of the exam, added July 16 2009, consists of four computer-based, short-answer questions which candidates have 30 minutes to complete.

Unlike traditional written exams, the Core Knowledge questions are not multiple choice, but instead require a short answer to be manual typed out by the candidate. Additionally, this section must be completed before proceeding onto the traditional configuration portion of the exam, candidates may not return to the short answer questions once they have begun the configuration portion of the exam, and no additional resources such as the Cisco documentation are available during the section. Most importantly, this section is manually graded by the exam proctors as pass or fail only. Candidates who answer more than one question incorrectly in the Core Knowledge section automatically fail the entire lab exam, even if they passed the configuration and troubleshooting portions of the exam!

Our Core Knowledge Simulation offers a specifically targeted way to prepare for this new section. This product consists of a large (and frequently updated) database of short answer questions in which candidates must manually enter their responses to the questions. Unlike other traditional testing engines, these questions are not multiple choice, so no blind guessing is possible.

Intended Audience

FAQ

  • What are the requirements for accessing the equipment?
    • The only requirement for rack rental access is to be able to telnet across the Internet at TCP port 23.
  • I signed up for rack time, now what?
    • You will receive an email from support@gradedlabs.com with your login information before your scheduled date and time.
  • How do I connect to the access server?
    • Login as "rackX" where X is your rack number using the instructions you were emailed.
  • What do I do once I'm on the access server?
    • Issue the "show hosts" command to see the host mappings. Reverse telnet to them by typing the hostname and pressing enter.
  • How do I get back to the access server once I'm connected to a router/switch?
    • Issue the escape sequence CTRL-SHIFT-6-X. To do so hold ctrl and shift, hit 6, release all keys, then hit X.
Can I connect to the devices directly without using the access server?
    • Yes. Login as "rackXrY" and "rackXswY" where X is the rack number and Y is the device number. The password is the same for all devices as per your email instructions.
  • What do I do if I can't login?
    • If you get the "Authentication Failed" message your login and/or password are incorrect. Recheck your schedule to ensure you are logging in at the correct date and time and using the correct login information. If you do not get any error message and the connection simply closes the line must be cleared.
  • How do I clear a line?
    • To clear the console line of the access server login as "clearrackX" where X is the rack number using the same password that's contained in your email. To clear an individual device line login to the access server and issue the "clear line Z" command where Z is the line number. To see the active connections and their line numbers issue the "show line" command

Mock Lab Outline

The following is the logical structure of every Mock Lab. There are multiple tasks per section, which is the same format you will find in the real CCIE Voice exam. Every lab is accompanied by a four-question Core Knowledge section, which is worth 21 points. The configuration section is worth 79 points, just like the real lab, with the passing score of 59 points. Keep in mind that you need to answer three out of four Core Knowledge questions in addition to scoring no less that 59 points in the Configuration section to PASS a given Mock Lab.

Petr Lapukhov's career in IT begain in 1988 with a focus on computer programming, and progressed into networking with his first exposure to Novell NetWare in 1991. Initially involved with Kazan State University's campus network support and UNIX system administration, he went through the path of becoming a networking consultant, taking part in many network deployment projects. Haresh Khemani - CCIE #21176

I just wanted to let you know I passed CCIE Voice on Jan 26. My CCIE # remains same from R&S - 21176. I have used your Version 3 Class On Demand, Volume 1 & 2 and the Core Knowledge Simulation.

Daryl Smith - CCIE #25893

I took the exam last Friday in RTP and received the news today. This was also my first attempt!!!! My studies were made up of Reading the SRND section by section and understanding the technology as well as going through Vol 1 workbook and understanding the questions and the task. Once I was able to do the task and meet the requirements I then moved onto full labs and trying to put it all together. The week before my lab I completed my last and final full mock lab that Sat. After that no more labbing, I felt I could do the lab so the rest of the week I would do specific topics just to stay sharp but not any full labs. Going back to my sport days you practice, practice, practice then rest before you match, game or event. I did the same with the lab and I feel that paid off pretty good. I was worried about the OEQ, but like everyone has stated. If you really prepare for the exam the OEQ are easy. I would like to thank Josh Finke, and Mark Snow, for all the study material and advice as well as my study partner "Twann Atkins". So be on the lookout for their success stories coming soon. Pablo Roman - CCIE #24832

Hello, I passed my voice lab on 8th June, my first CCIE. I used your Workbook and Rack Rental for my preparation. Your CCIE blog is the best has good explanation for understanding hard topic. Thanks.

Brett Saling - CCIE #25890

"More than impressed with the talent at INE and their contribution as trusted advisors to my success in achieving this certification. I had the opportunity to spend a week at the bootcamp in Reno and solidify the gaps in my knowledge before facing the actual lab. Being able to throw questions back at live bodies while in the midst of mock-lab tasks is priceless as those 'pesky' questions usually surface when studying and your phone-a-friends are out drinking. Much thanks to Josh for his time, insight and patience and for having the tenacity to take students under his wing and provide the necessary resources to strengthen their understanding of core technologies. Cathartic experience for sure. Now time for a little break, a little make-up family time, then on to Security!"

Aybala Tut - CCIE #26226

I passed my Voice Lab 2 weeks ago in Brussels. I have used all INE Workbooks and attended the one week bootcamp. I honestly recommend the bootcamp, especially as an opportunity to clarify your final questions within the last month before your attempt your lab. Good luck to all who still need to sit for the lab.
